The south is really a wonderful place. The people are friendly, the trees are green and full of life. Mostly though, the food is what the south is all about. I love it here already, and I’m excited to see who i become in my time here. I’m deep in the heart of Georgia, where the accents are heavy and the hospitality is real. The locals here instantly know I’m a Californian, and they love it. They tell me how much they love California, and I can’t help but agree. I love California, too. In the midst of the pandemic, and everything that is going on in the world right now, it’s nice to be around some genuine people who are welcoming and not so stressed and tense. California can be a very stressed environment.
While California is fully shut down, Georgians are open. Both literally and figuratively. The locals here are taking precautions to make sure no one is being exposed to any infectious people or environments, but the show must go on for most of the people here. Real people.
I set my intentions before I came to Georgia, and it’s up to me to make sure I keep those promises I made to myself. I came here to change my life, I came here to become a new person and I fully intend on doing so. I came to get away from the noise and away from the distractions. I came here to rid myself of excuses, put my head down and knock some doors. It’s week 1, day 4 and I’m off to a pretty decent start. Time to crank it up.
